Protecting an oak during installation of a swimming pool

To protect a 250 year old oak tree during the installation of a swimming pool (8 meters from its trunk), we were asked to advise all involved parties. We started manually digging a slit from the hall to the oak.

Patience is the key word for this particular job

Manual labor near the roots

We needed the slit so we could neatly cut
off the roots and not damage the tree while
the crane was digging.

Here we are applying an anti-fungal remedy.

Last precautions before covering the side
of the roots

The foil is applied to prevent dehydration.
We stay in touch with the contractors, because
there is a lot of interest in the wellbeing of
the tree.
